A birthday present for my pal Ellejohara [link], of the titular mermaid from She Creature* [link], a movie we both like.
Set around 1900, the movie concerns a couple of carnies (played by Carla Gugino and Rufus "John motherfuckin' Murdoch" Sewell) who happen upon a mermaid in Ireland, which they end up attempting to transport to the USA via rickety ship. But they soon discover there's something rather... fishy about this particular mermaid.

Personally, I sympathise with the murderous mermie in this movie. She's just doing what she needs to do to get by. It's the people in this movie who are the real monsters.

The mermaid is pretty much the most well-designed mermaid that I've come across in film. Also, she's played by Rya Kihlstedt, who happens to be the sister of Carla Kihlstedt from Sleepytime Gorilla Museum et al.
I've altered her design somewhat for this picture. I'm no purist. So sue me.
Anyway, if you injoy cheese-tastic horror films you'd do well to check She Creature out.

*Not to be confused with 1956's rather abysmal The She-Creature.

I'm into messy hair… And to achieve it underwater all you need is a lot of hair, hehe.

What's her m. o.? Is she the usual mermaid, luring victims with her looks, or the usual vengeful gory monster?

I see from the IMDB link that Carla Gugino also played Silk Spectre in Watchmen and Dr. Gorski in Sucker Punch. Respect.

Actually, the mermaid's modus operandi is a mixture of both. She's the Mermaid Queen, and her role is to go out into the world and find humans to lure back to the mermaid colony for the mermaids to devour. But she's also motivated by revenge in this film, for how she's treated by the ship's crew and her captors.
