Here's Chelsea and Millie's mom, Clover. Prior to deciding to have kids she was the lead singer, guitarist and primary songwriter for the band Miss Machine. Nowadays she mainly focuses on writing film scores and such, but she still enjoys playing her collection of guitars very frequently.
I did this illustration yesterday as a warm-up before drawing the new Chelsea & Millie comic that I'm drawing today. Yes, her amp does bear a rather close resemblance to a *coughMARSHALLcough* half-stack. I used my own half-stack as a reference y'see.
Tom and I have been putting together a "comic bible" for Chelsea & Millie, similar to how TV shows have "show bibles". A few weeks ago I wrote out a brief history (6 pages) of the band Miss Machine, complete with a list of the albums (and the titles of the songs on each album) that they released. Here's their discography:
Miss Machine (E.P.) First Girl on the Moon Lovers Drizzlegirls Amamaguzalan (B-sides and rarities collection) Invidia
When the Chelsea & Millie site is up and running I'll have a section somewhere in there which will contain a list of all the song names and such as well.
And for the curious, here's an example of the sort of riffs Clover is playing on this guitar in this picture. [link]
Oh, right right, of course. The music is from a bunch of online instrumental demos and muck-about tracks by Mr. Josh Travis (guitarist for the excellently named band The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, among others).
But there'll be a site just for them, oh, wow.
You may have noticed that I have a thing for machines, and mechanical things in general.
Here is his Soundcloud page. [link]
My other favourite track (apart from the one I posted previously) is "WKGS_ref_29_axefx", which is just totally bonkers.
I don't know him personally.
