Colour Test Illustration 01: The Gish Sisters.

Here's a simple pre-production colour test piccy I did a few weeks ago, of Chelsea (right) and her little sister Millie. They're the principal characters from the new comic series I'm developing—the name of which is Chelsea and Millie, cos I am just soooo imaginative when it comes to thinking up titles—with my good pal and fellow comicmaker Tom Szewc, or :icontabris-the-17th: on here.
You might remember these young ladies from the two older designs that I posted on DA some time ago, here [link] and here [link]

As you can see I've made a few alterations to both girls' designs here, most notably Chelsea's hair. I rather like Chelsea's outfit here. She enjoys wearing all sorts of outfits and out of the two of them Chelsea's personal clothing style is my favourite, generally speaking.

So yes, this is a "colour test", something I did to suss out a few things about the girls' basic colour palette. No background required.
In a few hours' time I shall be posting the second Chelsea and Millie colour test picture that I did, which does feature a background, and also features their parents.

Those of you who haven't seen it might also be interested in this rather old Chelsea and Millie two-page comic which I did in 2009 for a British comics anthology, even merely for a point of comparison between their initial slapdash design to this more streamlined look.
Comic goodness awaits: [link]

Chelsea and Millie are © M. Jaimz Sims and Thomas D. Szewc.

At least in television, I've come to the conclusion that the best things have simple obvious stupid titles, like Monk, Psych, House, M. D..

WOW, 2009. I really don't remember those. XD And I hadn't seen that comic either. Love the bandage on Millie.

Good point about titles. I've never tried to think up an alternate title to Chelsea and Millie, that just seems to my instincts to be the best fit.
Sometimes it's best to just call a spade a spade.

Indeed, I'd put either that, or the very title of this deviation, in case you want to avoid the "[person] and [person]" structure.

I like your idea, I like it a lot! And I am a little dumbfounded by my complete inability to think of that myself.
Though I'm gonna have to stick with the Chelsea and Millie title as at this point too many people already know it as being called that.

Hehe, I too occasionally forget to be as simple as possible. I pointed out this other possibility because I see a LOT of "[person] and [person]", but oh, well, simple titles are naturally quite frequent.

I find the two equally good, but the title is normally the last thing I put in my pieces. You, on the other hand, consider it immutable way before releasing the piece… I, back to the initial hand, have a lot less people expecting the pieces. Food for thought. XD

Them girls comprise a large portion of my day to day thoughts and daydreams these days. I'm very pleased to have 'em there. If two bug-eyed ginger kids are what now help provide a big chunk of meaning to my existence, well sir, I'm totally down with that being so.

Cheers! :D
I reckon her new bangs-infused, mop-top hair design is a definite improvement over the original design.

Her hair used to have much more of a precise look to it. I like it so much better like this. That was a great call Miz!
